$84 Million Dollar Luxury Spec House On The Market In Palm Beach

We’ve seen plenty of houses sell for exorbitant prices in Palm Beach, Florida but 1220 South Ocean stretches the boundaries of spec construction. The Wall Street Journal reports that the French Chateau-style waterfront home was built by Dan Swanson, a high-end developer. The eight-bedroom home has a lakeside dining room, a massive wine cellar, separate guest house, boat dock and a 60-foot heated pool.

The property website says the home is a total of 27,355 square feet (20,129 square feet of air conditioned space). All the finishes are exquisite including marble, antique stone and European oak flooring. The home has a commercial elevator and both a family staircase and a grand marble staircase. The kitchen isn’t just a kitchen, it’s a complex with a butler’s pantry, , walk-in pantry/chef’s office, and dedicated staff powder room. The hem has six juice bars, a main service bar and an oak sit-down bar in the garden room. At 4,000 square feet the master suite is larger than most homes and has separate sitting rooms, dressing rooms, bathrooms and multiple balconies.

This home however has lake, not ocean views, making $84 million a bit of an ambitious price in my opinion

The Ultimate Luxury Car Collector’s Crash Pad, Yours for a Cool $35 Million

For a cool $35 million you can get the ultimate luxury car collector’s crash pad in Montecito, California, a modernist masterpiece designed to house a world-class collection of 35 cars – that’s $1 million per car – in a stunning automotive art gallery. Walls and pillars lined in walnut give way to massive plate glass windows fronting on a sweeping terrace so that the car collection is integrated into life of the house. Of course you also get 15,000-square-feet of living space into the bargain. Designed by architect Steve Hermann and dubbed the Glass Pavilion in homage to the late Philip Johnson, it’s set within a 3.5 acre estate of oak groves near to where Al Gore recently spent nearly $9 million on a Mediterranean-style mansion. Other famous neighbors include Oprah WInfrey, Steve Martin, Jeff Bridges and John Cleese. Massive structural steel beams allow for acres of glass that appear to be floating above the rolling lawns. The kitchens and baths are fitted out by famous names such as Varena, Poliform and Antonio Lupi. In each category the “best and most exciting products from around the world” were sourced to make the entire house, which took six years to compete, utterly flawless.

$220 Million London Luxury Penthouse Now World’s Most Expensive

A six-bedroom luxury penthouse at London’s posh One Hyde Park development (above) has just sold for a record-breaking £140 million, or about $220 million, making it the most expensive piece of residential real estate in the world (in terms of current listings and sales). The massive deal eclipses the paltry $150 million asking price for The Manor, Candy Spelling’s monstrous mansion in Holmby Hills, California, previous holder of the World’s Most Expensive title. While the identity of the buyer remains a closely-guarded secret, speculation is centering on oligarchs and oil sheikhs, the London Telegraph reports. The palatial penthouse stretches across two floors and boasts bullet-proof windows, a panic room and stunning views across the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park.

The new owners will also have access to 24-hour room service from the neighboring Mandarin Oriental hotel, spas, squash courts a private wine-tasting facility and protection from security guards who are former members of the SAS, the UK’s elite special forces unit. One Hyde Park, which boasts 86 properties starting at around £20 million, is comprised of four hexagonal tower blocks due to be completed by December. Back in 2008 when the project was in its infancy my colleague Deirdre Woollard reported that Sheikh Hamad, the foreign minister of Qatar, had agreed to purchase an apartment there for a rumored £100 million, or around $196 million. More recently we revealed that British supercar maker McLaren will open a luxe new showroom in the development as well.

gisele bundchen
The impossibly alluring Gisele Bundchen has once again been named as the world’s top-earning supermodel, with an income of million for the previous 12 months according to Forbes. The Brazilian bombshell retained the top spot from last year’s list with the same dollar figure, proving that the supermodel business is as recession-proof as they come. It’s also been a good year for Bundchen in the real estate market; as my colleague Deirdre Woollard reported back in January, she sold her NYC townhouse for .95 million. She also reportedly donated .5 million to the Red Cross for Haiti, sharing the wealth. In the No. 2 spot on the list is Heidi Klum with million, another carryover from last year, while Kate Moss clocks in at No. 3 with million, Victoria’s Secret stunner Adrianna Lima makes No. 4 with .5 million, and relative newcomer Doutzen Kroes, yet another VS lingerie lovely, gets the No. 5 slot with million. Can You Imagine A Luxury Cellphone Worth 19.73 Million

Can You Imagine A Cellphone Can Worth 19.73 Million RMB

If you are asked what is the most luxurious cellphone in the world you may answer the GoldVish which has been recorded in the Guinness. But here I have to tell you that the cellphone which is about 11 million is the past. It has been surpassed by the new released iPhone 3GS supreme rose from Goldstriker company. Its price is about 19.73 million RMB and is the new record of the world.

In the past we regarded the Vertu as the symbol of the luxury, but now you have to update your conception. All the people who are familiar with the luxury must be familiar with the company called Goldstriker. It is good at embedding gold or diamond to the various popular digital electronics. The diamond and platinum iPhone 3G both got great achievements. This time the price of the new released iPhone 3GS supreme rose cellphone can not be surpassed by any other one in the world, but there is no any special creative ideas in the process of the manufacturing. It is reported that the cellphone have 130 artificial parts and 75 first-class diamond are embedded on its body.

Although this kind of the cellphone does not lack of buyers, even in the domestic country it can also be welcomed by the rich people, the manufacture still think that it is the propagating effect throuth the high price that benefits them. Other cellphones would have a much greater future.

Gianni Agnelli’s Classic Yacht for Sale at $1.8 Million

gianni agnelli yacht
Fiat chairman Gianni Agnelli, who died in 2003 at the age of 81, was one of the most stylish men who ever walked the Earth. An avid playboy and racecar driver (Fiat of course owns Ferrari), Agnelli was also a keen yachtsman, and enjoyed many years of sailing his Knut Reimer-designed 82-ft. yawl Agneta with its distinctive port-wine colored sails and superb varnished hull, built in 1948. Now the stylish yacht with its restored Burmese teak deck has been listed for sale in France via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for about $1.8 million.

A regular on the on the Mediterranean Classic Yacht regatta racing circuit, the Agneta‘s spacious owner’s stateroom features a marble fireplace and en-suite bath suitable for an elegant gentleman, while interiors are fitted with polished paneling and exotic inlays. We don’t know for certain but can speculate that Agnelli, whose estate was worth $4.4 billion, entertained famed female companions like Anita Ekberg, Rita Hayworth and (rumored) Jackie Onassis aboard the beautiful boat.

Piaget Emperador Temple Diamonds Watch – $3.5 Million

piaget emperador

What happens when you have a ziggurat of diamonds on a watch? Well this… For 2010 Piaget has successfully crammed in more diamonds into an Emperador style watch. It is like the difference between Wheaties and Total breakfast cereal. Total has twice (or whatever) the fiber, in the same size bowl! How does Piaget fit that much fiber, err, I mean diamonds into a watch?! Looks like it has over 1200 diamonds all over the watch. Wowy! The secret is the pyramid style “temple” design of the watch case. It actually opens up, twice. First is a little hatch over a smaller mother-of-pearl and diamond watch face. Then the watch opens up again to reveal a large face with an exposed one minute tourbillon and power reserve indicator. With this much surface space, Piaget is able to fits the hundreds of diamonds into the design of the Emperador Temple Diamonds watch.

So much jewelery, so much.. watchery. The timepiece contains a variety of stone cuts. The watch has baguette cut stones, brilliant cut stones, and one emerald cut stone that tops off the stack o’ precious gems. The watch case fits the Emperador style mold, and inside the watch is two movements. The grander of the two being the tourbillon. Not too sure whether the top movement is mechanical or quartz. The purpose of a watch like this? To show off. It brings new meaning to the concept of “pyramid power.” At the very least, the heap of diamonds on your wrist will get you nice tables at restaurants and extra expensive drinks at the bar. Piaget made this watch as one-off piece that went for a price that was somewhere in the rage of $3.5 million. Though their doors and arms are wide open to you should you decide to fund a second model for your personal wearing pleasure.

$106 Million Picasso Sale Sets New World Record for Most Expensive Work of Art

picasso nude green leaves and bust
Last month The Classicist broke the news that a rarely-seen Picasso was expected to fetch up to $90 million at Christie’s landmark Evening Sale of Impressionist and Modern Art, which took place yesterday in New York. Now the results are in and the painting, Nude, Green Leaves, and Bust (above) dated 1932, from the Collection of Mrs. Sidney F. Brody, was sold for a staggering $106.5 million to an unidentified telephone bidder, breaking the previous world record for any work of art sold at auction (set back in February when a Giacometti sculpture brought in $104.3 million). Yesterday’s sale achieved a stunning $335.5 million in total. The Evening Sale portion of the Brody Collection also became the highest total for a single-owner sale offered at Christies New York, surpassing the landmark sale of the Collection of Victor and Sally Ganz sale in 1997. The 27 lots from the Brody Collection achieved $224.2 million.

Marc Porter, Chairman of Christie’s Americas, commented: “This was a stellar night for Christie’s and for the art market. The sale was led by exceptional prices for works by Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Henri Matisse from the Brody Collection, one of the greatest private collections to come to market. In addition, we witnessed great depth of bidding and strong results for important works from other American and European collections, including additional paintings by Picasso and works by Giacometti and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. We are honored to have been entrusted with so many remarkable works this season, and we are delighted to have delivered such positive results, including three new world auction records for Picasso, Georges Braque, and Jean-François Raffaelli.”
